The Smoothie That Started It All back in 2017

Every business has a beginning.

For Oh Natuurlik, it started with a single smoothie and a single customer.

Long before there were multiple stores, online ordering, smoothie boxes, and franchise opportunities, there was simply a dream, a blender, and a belief that people deserved healthier food options.

Our very first product was the Peanut Butter Bomb Smoothie.

Made with simple ingredients and a lot of passion, it quickly became a customer favourite. But what many people don’t know is the story behind the very first sale.

On the day we sold our first Peanut Butter Bomb back in 2017 when we were still known as Earth Forest (that’s a story for another day), we didn’t have much. Every rand mattered. When that first customer handed over their money, we took the R50 from the sale and immediately used it to buy more bananas so we could make the next smoothie.

There was no big investment. No fancy equipment. No guarantees that it would work.

Just a belief that if we served great food and treated people well, something special could grow.

That R50 wasn’t just money. It was proof that somebody believed in what we were doing. It was confirmation that this dream might actually have a future.

One smoothie became two.

Two became ten.

Ten became hundreds.

And over time, that small beginning grew into a brand that now serves communities across multiple locations.

Today, the Peanut Butter Bomb remains one of our most-loved smoothies. Not only because it tastes great, but because it reminds us where we started.

It reminds us that every successful business starts with a single customer.

A single opportunity.

A single decision to keep going.

As we continue to grow, we never want to forget those early days, the lessons they taught us, and the customers who believed in us before anyone else did.

And every time we blend one, we’re reminded that big dreams often begin with something very small.

Sometimes all it takes is R50, a few bananas and a bucket of faith.
